Several new clauses were added to Belize's HIV Strategic Plan 2012 - 2016 following a workshop meeting coordinated by Sonke Gender Justice in Istanbul from 14th - 16th November 2011:

• New emergency responses were included for victims of sexual violence
• A call was made for a culture of tolerance and respect for gender equity
• A call was made for men to take responsibility for all facets of their sexual behaviour
• Young men were added to the target groups for social- and behaviour-change initiatives
